\/>Rings out across the choppy waters<br \/>While the winds of pestilence blow<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>The helmsman stands at the rudder<br \/>Surveying his motley crew<br \/>Tousled blond hair all askew<br \/>Give it all you\u2019ve got, boys<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>The virus may rage in China<br \/>And Italy\u2019s hospitals are full<br \/>The Spaniards are on their knees <br \/>But we\u2019re still playing football<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>The scientists say the death-count<br \/>Is heading for the skies<br \/>So jam on the brakes boys<br \/>A U-turn is looking wise<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>And everyone\u2019s confined to barracks<br \/>With ambulances lined in a row<br \/>Treating patients in the car park<br \/>While hospital wards overflow<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re dishing out contracts like confetti<br \/>Ordering PPE from Pestfix<br \/>Aprons and masks from Turkey<br \/>And gloves from Nigel\u2019s aunt<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re setting out arrangements<br \/>Treatments and tests are ramping up<br \/>Our track and trace is brilliant<br \/>And our strategy\u2019s world-class<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>So why is the death-count climbing<br \/>And numbers going out the roof?<br \/>We\u2019re out in the streets hand-clapping<br \/>What more can doctors and nurses ask?<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>Now little Nattie climbs the podium<br \/>And explains our masks won\u2019t fit<br \/>We ordered the wrong specifications<br \/>The PPE is rubblish but it\u2019s all we\u2019ve got<br \/>So put it on and row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>And Woodcock looks shifty-eyed<br \/>As the Captain falls sick with covid-flu<br \/>He\u2019s whisked off to the hospital<br \/>Coughing and spluttering too<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>Pottie Piranha takes the lurching helm<br \/>She\u2019s calling up the gunboats<br \/>To shaft the migrant crews<br \/>It\u2019s diversionary tactics<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re closing all the schools<br \/>And cancelling all the exams<br \/>But we\u2019re keeping the pubs open<br \/>Serving pints and double Scotch-eggs<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>Now we\u2019re closing pubs and shops<br \/>And cancelling the booze<br \/>But we\u2019re keeping the schools open<br \/>The economy\u2019s got too much to lose<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re honing all the slogans<br \/>To get the message through<br \/>We\u2019re locking up and locking in<br \/>And introducing tiers too<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>But still the numbers are climbing<br \/>Our advisers haven\u2019t a clue<br \/>We\u2019ve over eighty thousand dead<br \/>And we don\u2019t know what to do<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re top of the league for deaths<br \/>Poor Italy\u2019s left in our wake<br \/>We\u2019ve beaten France quite easily<br \/>And Germany\u2019s a piece of cake<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t look good in the papers<br \/>It\u2019s hard to explain the amount <br \/>But Connings has a nifty wheeze \u2013<br \/>Johnny Foreigner can\u2019t count!<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>We can meet if we\u2019re in bubbles<br \/>But we\u2019re not allowed indoors<br \/>Unless we\u2019re looking after kids<br \/>Or clambering up gym bars<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll all be over by Christmas<br \/>We can carve the turkey breast<br \/>And book our Spanish holidays<br \/>And have a well-earned rest<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>But we\u2019re heading onto the rocks<br \/>There\u2019s a waterfall ahead<br \/>We promised sunny uplands<br \/>But landed up the creek instead<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>Now the scientists are telling us<br \/>There\u2019s a new variant on the way<br \/>We\u2019ve unleashed a world-beating virus<br \/>That will blow us all away<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>The public\u2019s begun to doubt us<br \/>They think we\u2019re telling lies<br \/>It\u2019s pain for them and jam for us<br \/>As they\u2019re swept away in the surge<br \/>Row, boys, row!<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s rumbling in the streets<br \/>And anarchy in the skies<br \/>So put
