I would sooner ride in his car<br \/>than follow his lead in politics.<\/em><br \/>&#8211; After Bertolt Brecht<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE TAINT AT SOURCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There was a taint at source,<br \/>that kept renewing:<br \/>that was how our killing flaw,<br \/>in mind, and hand, and heart,<br \/>was ever-present, age on age,<br \/>from our species\u2019 very start.<\/p>\n<p>No later tributary could flush away<br \/>the heaped contaminants that infected us,<br \/>giving us our propensity to ill;<br \/>and they are ever-present, ever-active still.<\/p>\n<p>Virtue might feature sometimes<br \/>in our rhetoric, even in our dreams,<br \/>but, incurably it sickens,<br \/>victim of a fact of life<br \/>that no force on earth redeems.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>THE WHEEL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Round and round<br \/>goes the hateful, fateful wheel.<br \/>It takes us up &#8211; oh look, the views!
