There will be a performance of \u201cBurning Books\u201d at Quorn Grange Hotel, Loughborough, Leics., on 23rd November. Jess Green\u2019s most recent story of protest, teaching and what is happening in today\u2019s schools has struck a chord with many, and we hope that you are able to come along.<\/strong> <\/p>\n Ask yourself, what should schools do when they are losing so many teachers?<\/p>\n On Teach First student Kat\u2019s first day at Hurstville Community College, Nicky Morgan announces forced academisation for all state schools. Kat is ready for the picket line but her attempts to join the NUT are met with contempt by union stalwart Janine. The head teacher is invisible and the staff are more concerned about losing their staff room, disappearing books and a History teacher who hasn\u2019t been seen for weeks.<\/p>\n A powerful and humorous look at an education system buckling under government cuts and targets.
